Since opening 20 years ago, it has been our pleasure to serve those who share our vision for Siesta Key’s finest eatery. We are dedicated to surpassing your expectations by providing a great location, a warm, inviting, and fun atmosphere, along with delicious menu items that appeal to both locals and visitors alike.
Clayton’s was the dream of Clayton and Diane Thompson, who opened the doors in 2004. In 2024, the restaurant was taken over by the Frey family—long-time employees, friends, and contributors to Clayton’s Siesta Grille. On most nights, you can find owner and general manager Mrs. Mavis Frey on the scene, spreading her love throughout the restaurant.
We are committed to helping the environment and have implemented several eco-friendly measures at our restaurant, including oil, cardboard, glass, and plastic recycling programs. We also convert vegetable oil into biodiesel fuel and have installed high-efficiency equipment and lighting.
Since our opening day, we have provided a mentoring program for high school students. Our program is designed to create a friendly work environment, encourage the development of a strong work ethic, and teach them how to become responsible adults. Additionally, we have raised funds for and contributed to various charities, including Kiwanis, The Sertoma Club of Greater Sarasota, Rotary Club of Sarasota, Breast Cancer, Wounded Warriors, PGD, MDA, Hand Up to Victory, and disaster relief efforts for Hurricanes Katrina, Harvey, Irma, and Ian.
